Our 10 session gambling addiction treatment program
Cost: €70 per session or €700 for the full program
Our program of gambling addiction treatment is spread over 10 sessions of one-to-one counselling. It is an empirically supported, manualised, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) treatment program, meaning that the counsellor works from a Therapist Guide Manual, which has an accompanying Client Workbook. One of the many advantages of this approach is that all clients receive the same treatment, regardless of which counsellor they work with.
The treatment model we use was developed by Professor Robert Ladouceur, a licensed clinical psychologist and founder of the Quebec Centre of Excellence for the Prevention and Treatment of Problem Gambling, and his colleague Stella Lachance, also a psychologist. It was developed over a 10 year period and studies have found that between 80% and 87.5% of clients who completed the treatment no longer met the diagnostic criteria for a Gambling Disorder. The results remained consistent at the 6 and 12-month follow-up sessions.
Our Addiction Counsellors are experienced, qualified and fully-accredited.
The program is approximately 10.5 hours in duration. At this time, all appointments are delivered remotely (video call or phone call). We recommend that sessions 1-8 are attended over an 8-week period, wherever possible. Sessions 9 & 10 are 6 and 12-month follow-ups. Additional sessions can be arrange, as required.
A detailed breakdown of the steps of the program is available, below.
