Ireland's first dedicated counselling service for people affected by problem gambling
Welcome to the Gambling Clinic
The Gambling Clinic is a joint initiative of registered charities Problem Gambling Ireland (RCN: 20154738) and Extern Ireland (RCN: 20055318). This project has been funded by a private philanthropic donor, in order to provide a free problem gambling counselling service in Waterford and Dublin. While there is no cost for using this service, donations are welcome, in order to protect the sustainability of this project. If you would like to make a donation, you can do so here: www.problemgambling.ie/donate.html.
The Gambling Clinic is Ireland's first dedicated, gambling addiction treatment program. The program is an empirically supported, manualised approach, which was developed over a ten year period at the Quebec Centre of Excellence for the Prevention and Treatment of Problem Gambling.
The program consists of 10 one-to-one counselling sessions, lasting roughly 11.5 hours in total. It operates on an out-patient basis and can be accessed in person at our Waterford office, or via Skype call. We launched our free face-to-face service in Dublin and Waterford, in September 2019. For more information on our treatment approach, please go to the Gambling Treatment Program page.
If you are concerned that you may have a Gambling Disorder, you can take a brief self-assessment test here. (opens in new window)
